Ma. Nhelette Gonzales, the BS Nutrition student who was hit by a car Wednesday night, has died Monday morning. She was 18 years old.
The official page of Pasay City Science High School (PCSHS), where Gonzales graduated before entering UPLB, broke the news Monday afternoon.
Reports say that Gonzales was walking at Lopez Ave, Los Baños, Laguna Wednesday night when a vehicle hit her, causing injuries. She was then rushed to LBDH.
The suspect was arrested, but later posted bail.
On Thursday, friends, classmates, and other UPLB students rushed to LBDH to raise funds for her medical bills. Chancellor Rex Victor Cruz and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Oscar Zamora also visited Gonzales.
On Sunday, a mass was dedicated at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Parish for her speedy recovery.
Gonzales’ remains is already with her family in Pasay, her hometown. [P]
