In the 42nd anniversary of the declaration of Presidential Decree No. 1081, the College Editors Guild of the Philippines – Southern Tagalog chapter mourns the thousands of victims of Martial Law, and enjoins the Filipino people in condemning more obstacles in the struggle for genuine press freedom.
Although we have long rid of the Marcos dictatorship, the chains it has left those who have sought for truth and justice remains up until this day.As Aquino claims that the Philippines is a safer place for journalists during his administration, no one can deny the lack of political will he exerts to give the victims justice.
