Vice-Chancellor for Planning and Development Dr. Fernando Sanchez, Jr., has been selected as the next Chancellor of the University of the Philippines Los Baños, reports from the UPLB University Student Council say.
He is set to replace incumbent Chancellor Rex Victor Cruz, who sought for a second term.
In a statement sent via text, the USC urges students to “call and unite to have a chancellor that shall further students [sic] rights and welfare and uphold a nationalist, scientific, and pro-people UP education above all others.”
Vice-Chancellor Sanchez ran under a platform of “participatory governance and management,” and “action-oriented style of management.” [P]
