The Jocks tackles stan culture
The UPLB Jocks released their pilot episode for the season 2 of Jock Tunes with “Stan Twitter, Do You Know This Song?” last April 18.
On their 2nd episode they featured songs of numerous K-pop groups as Tobi and Clover talk about stan culture on Twitter and the different music experience it provides to fans. Jock Tunes is the Jocks’ recently returned podcast talking about all things music.

This week, keep track of what has been recently happening in the university through ForeCast, a recent initiative of the College of Arts and Sciences Freshman Council in line with the council’s aim to raise awareness among the student body, especially freshmen.
Here are the following forecasts for this week:
· As one of the institutions under the College of Arts and Sciences, we are enjoining every student under the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) to attend the ICS Week 2021 with theme “Digital Evolution: Adapting in the New Normal using Information and Communication Technology” as celebration of the institute’s 26th year.
· The Office of the Student Regent, together with the Systemwide University Student Councils submitted an urgent appeal for a Systemwide Academic Ease to the Office of Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) on April 12. Sign the petition here: bit.ly/AcadEaseNowPetition.
· College of Arts and Sciences – Office of the College Secretary released a summarized and compiled list of students’ queries via Frequently Asked Questions in their Facebook Page.
· Currently with approximately 31, 000 signatures, ChangePilipinas calls for the ouster of the fascist Rodrigo Duterte. Join them as they reach a total of 35, 000 signatures.

TEDx UPLB count down to their annual event with this year titled as “TEDxUPLB 2021: Sign of the Times” happening on May 2 via Zoom.
The theme focuses on ideas of the past, present, and future in retracing the steps in Philippine society to look at today’s progress and what has yet to come. It aims to be also a platform in highlighting past and emerging issues in order to reflect on the current situation amidst the pandemic.
Their lineup of speakers has been posted on their Facebook page and recently announced that the UPLB Choral Ensemble and UST Chorus of Arts and Letters will be performing in the event. The 2nd wave of applications for participants have already closed but weekly blogs and commentaries are released on their website.

UP Internet Freedom Network to talk about copyright issues
The UP Internet Freedom Network will be holding an open discussion entitled “Copyright issues in the time of Remote Learning: An Open Discussion.” on April 23 at 7PM via Zoom.
According to their Facebook page, the discussion will talk about teachers and students who face copyright issues that get in the way of free and quality education for all.
It will feature Ms. Julienne Urrea, Mr. Jethro Pugal, and Mr. Kennedy Limbo as the speakers who will share their experiences as instructors with regards to copyright issues given the current online learning set up.

The why’s and how’s of voting
The Philippine Online Student Tambayan (POST) will be conducting their webinar series titled, “Puwedeng Maging Choosy” this April 24, 1:00PM, via Facebook Live.
The event is the first of a three-part webinar series in their year-long online campaign, #KabataanSaHalalan, in supporting the youth’s involvement in the electoral process. The campaign will be discussing about initiatives in active information drives and voter education programs with the current digital landscape.
The said event will focus on how the youth is essential in nation-building and what it means for the electoral process. This also includes discussions that will tackle youth suffrage with the influence of new media in the country.
The POST is the first independent online news portal and lifestyle media brand created for the student sector in the country. It is a flagship product of PHmediaportal, Inc. which is a Filipino corporation engaged in media and public relations industry.

TUKLAS 2021: The Next Set of Leaders
The Council of Student Organizations (CSO) of De La Salle University will be having an open 3-day webinar about leadership for the next generation happening on April 30, May 8, and May 15 via Zoom and Facebook livestream.
Towards Uplifting Knowledge and Leadership Advancement Series (TUKLAS) aims to educate their audience about leadership, information, and inclusivity in context to present times with Lasallian graduates as speakers for the event.
